Video Converter

Posted in Uncategorized on November 7, 2008 by Vanessa

This technology converts one video format to another. This could be useful in education because if a teacher makes a movie on her personal computer in one format she can convert it into a different format that the school uses when she shows her class.

What is video converter?

3M Digital Board

This board is similar to a dry erase board, but it is hooked up to over head projector system. The teacher can put information up on it for the class and also print notes from it. This technology would help when I am teaching because it will make it easier to distribute papers and information more efficiently.

RSS Feeds and Education

Posted in Uncategorized on September 18, 2008 by Vanessa

RSS feeds are useful in Education because you have many links in one place that you can access for teaching or could be linked to your students blogs to have homework done on them. I subscribed to Kirk’s blog, Elizabeth Richards’ blog, Aubrey Kreisher’s blog, Scott Harrold’s blog, and Elizabeth Scarff’s blog. I am using the bloglines RSS reader.

Prominent People in Educational Technology

Posted in Uncategorized on September 12, 2008 by Vanessa

First person that is important to educational technology is Matt Mullenweg he is the developer of WordPress blogging site and software. He is important because a lot of people love to blog and without him I would not be writing this blog on this site. His invention is important to education because people can go on this site and post blogs about thier education and give the address to others to view.

Second person that is important to educational technology is Meg Whitman CEO of EBAY. She is important because a lot of people like to buy/sell things online and EBAY is a good place to start. On Ebay or Half.com, which is owned by Ebay someone can find text books needed for classes or on Ebay someone could find equipment needed to teach in thier classrooms.

Third person that is important to educational technology is Jeff Bezos is the CEO of Amazon. He is important because Amazon is a place where you can buy things that are hard to find. Amazon is also a place where people can find textbooks for school. This site helps students get access to tools they need for thier education for cheaper prices.
